    As a Regional Service Manager, you ensure effective execution of preventative maintenance, support, training, and guidance to Directors of Operations, Service Managers, and communities.



    Roles You'll Play



    • Make sure all communities in your region are following Cortland’s maintenance policies and procedures
    • Provide onboarding training for new Service Managers and make sure associates stick to the methods they’ve learned throughout their education
    • Offer ongoing guidance to all service and property management associates by conducting monthly safety and maintenance training sessions
    • Set up your teams with any extra technical training they might need in areas like HVAC and appliance repair


    • Make sure that all equipment and associates alike are working in tip-top shape
    • Perform audits and inspections at your communities to evaluate maintenance and service systems to identify issues need to be addressed and areas for improvement
    • Check in regularly on regional service contractors to make sure they are living up to the requirements of their contracts and putting out high-quality work


    • Collaborate with your communities to develop new policies, procedures, and programs to improve those operations
    • Monitor budgets and turnover expenditures to come up with cost reduction recommendations
    • Identify best practices to reduce injuries, as well as continuing research into energy-saving and sustainability opportunities
    • Oversee the due diligence process and come up with modernized ways that communities can better accommodate local, state, and federal code requirements

    • Site teams are so in the know about service priorities, they could easily recite the three guiding principles in their sleep: “on-time service request completion, zero post-move-in service requests, and industry satisfaction scores.”
    • Maintenance issues and on-site injuries are at an all-time low with all the new, improved preventative practices you’ve introduced.


    Your Building Blocks of Success

    • 3+ years of stellar experience in increasingly responsible management positions within service management
    • High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license
    • Solid ability to repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and mechanical systems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with numbers and figures
    • Strong understanding of OSHA standards, fire and safety protocols, and MSDS regulations; completion of state required training
    • Ability to travel approximately 50-60%; availability to work all shifts, including weekends
    • Knowledge of MS Office
