    As an Information Technology Intern, you work with the solutions, infrastructure, and support teams, get hands-on experience delivering technical solutions and/or providing desk-side support for our office associates.


    Roles You'll Play



    The Sponge


    • Learn about technical solutions supporting the multi-family property management business
    • Learn how to provide comprehensive technical support to end users for problem or questions related to their computers, smartphones, tablets, and printers
    • Interact with Technology professionals to build an in-depth understanding of real-world methods and challenges
    • Gain familiarity with typical hardware support tasks, including setting up, testing and evaluating new equipment, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and auditing existing platforms for recurring issues
    • Learn how Cortland’s philosophy, principles, and policies guide the conduct of our projects and operations


    The Go-Getter


    • Identify, research, and address technical problems and ensure issues are correctly escalated and resolved
    • Conduct research to determine where/why issues are occurring and provide detailed information to applicable second-tier support teams for proper resolution
    • Lead your own projects, as assigned, and present your results to the team
    • Research and recommend process improvements to drive efficiency and overall effectiveness


    The Networker


    • Participate in as many formal and informal development activities as you can including “Lunch with the Leader” forums
    • Ask your colleagues on the Technology team, including senior executives, about our industry and the typical (and not-so-typical) career tracks at Cortland
    • Broaden your understanding of our company by reaching out to team members in other functional areas, such as Supply Chain, Architecture/Interior Design, Marketing, Talent, Facilities and Services, Investments, Operations, and Construction

    Your Building Blocks of Success



    • Full-time sophomore or junior college student, preferably enrolled in information technology or related field of study
    • Classwork and/or experience working and developing technology solutions
    • Interest in a property management or construction management career
    • Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and documentation skills
    • Excellent work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
    • Basic computer setup knowledge, including connecting and setting up multiple displays, connecting local printers, troubleshooting and isolating issues to aid in identification/resolution, applying OS updates/patches, and upgrading operating systems
