As the Vice President of Talent Acquisition, you build the strategy and execute the implementation to continue bringing top talent to Cortland Partners, one of Atlanta’s top places to work. Leading a team of 10+ recruiters and sourcing professionals, and in partnership with the Marketing team, you are responsible for building an employer brand that attracts and retains the brightest associates the multifamily real estate industry has ever known. You are also expected to build state-of-the-art hiring and development programs like internships, apprenticeships, and work-force reentry. In the past three years, we have grown from 400 to 1,600 associates; in the next three years, our growth will be just as large. It will be up to you to you to design recruiting solutions so we can grow faster, better, and stronger.

 

Roles You'll Play


  

THE EMPLOYEE BRAND CONNECTOR

  • Develop your team to find and connect the best talent with the right Hiring Managers
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs
  • Receive feedback in a positive way, and quickly take action to improve your and your team’s results
  • Establish relationships inside and outside of the industry to identify fruitful recruiting sources
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop hiring and retention programs that have an immediate impact on the overall talent of Cortland Partners
  • Work collaboratively with your peers within the Talent function on the integration of all systems and processes to create a better candidate and associate experience and to ensure the right programs are in place so that Cortland continues to be a top place of employment

THE STRATEGIST

  • Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest, most effective recruiting and retention strategies
  • Build a strategy to support short-term and long-term business growth both domestically and internationally (UK and China)
  • Bring to light the value provided by Talent Acquisition through the development of your own team and relationships with stakeholders across the entire company
  • Design and track TA metrics that are actionable and meaningful to the overall business results
  • Review and improve the current interview and interview feedback process
  • Design and implement a marketing recruiting strategy in partnership with Cortland’s Marketing team that effectively including events and digital marketing

THE MATCHMAKER

  • Responsible for key Executive searches, while also coaching your team to improve their selection capability
  • Develop state-of-the-art sourcing and candidate-relationship management practices to attract top candidates
  • Develop your team to refine the art and science of capturing the real needs of the business and the Hiring Manager in order to more effectively select candidates
  • Join organizations and have an active presence in all markets and organizations that are of interest to and aligned with our growth plan
  • Select talent vendors that not only are effective in the service they provide but aligned with our company values and goals
  • Coach the Talent Acquisition team for maximum performance and growth while driving accountability for business results
  • Establish relationships with Hiring Managers – making the case for value creation through the acquisition of talent by establishing relationships and creditably with key stakeholders

  • You are so successful in effectively communicating your vision and implementing your global strategy, support and buy-in from your team and business partners has never been higher.
  • Your TA stretch goals are measurable, and you are well on your way to achieving them after 120 days.
  • You have developed partnerships the industry’s best vendors who deliver the highest caliber of talent and/or product quickly and effectively.

 

Your Building Blocks of Success


  • Stellar 5+ years in a talent acquisition role, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop the talent acquisition function
  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • Knowledge of a wide array of corporate and community positions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Strong ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Experienced and comfortable working directly with C-level internal customers
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Demonstrated experience with various Applicant Tracking software, social media, and job boards
