As Purchasing Specialist, you serve in a dynamic role that goes beyond simple procurement by managing supply chains, creating systems and processes, developing products, and working closely with executive leadership.


Roles You'll Play



  • Purchase construction consumables and other miscellaneous building products
  • Maintain database of lumber and hardware pricing/takeoffs
  • Enhance the purchasing function for construction consumables, tools, and materials by developing and improving vendor relationships
  • Verify purchase requisitions, identify appropriate vendors, and ensure on-time delivery
  • Prepare written materials – such as purchase orders, memos, schedules, and price analyses – to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information related to purchasing activities


  • Monitor RFPs in accordance with company policies and practices
  • Evaluate order and bid documentation (requisitions, change orders, bids, etc.) to ensure supply acquisition is within compliance guidelines
  • Assist in obtaining required permits, maintaining file of updated drawings, and making adjustments to project costs due to changes
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy with your meticulous attention to detail


  • Manage budgets, negotiate, identify and solve issues, and constantly research ways you and your team can make renovation projects and supply chain cheaper and more efficient
  • Function as the link between internal departments and construction project management teams, using your impeccable written/verbal communication and follow-through skills
  • Serve as the point of contact for most site-level inquiries as part of a large portfolio, displaying your high level of customer service and people skills
  • Demonstrate your superior problem-solving skills by addressing any problems as they arise, identifying the cause, and eliminating the chance of reoccurrence

Your Building Blocks of Success

  • Experience with supply chain management, financial analysis, vendor solicitation, relationship management, internal invoicing, procurement, and product development
  • Basic accounting knowledge and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work extended hours when needed
  • Ability to communicate professionally with staff in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
