As a Structural Engineer, you oversee all structural aspects related to renovation and new development nationally.

 

Roles You'll Play


  

THE TASK MANAGER

  • Oversee all phases of projects, including design, contract documentation, specification production, shop drawing checks, site visitation, and project closeout
  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects
  • Assist in deciding, based on workload, which projects will be performed internally and which ones will be outsourced
  • Make structural engineering design decisions independently
  • Coordinate, write and/or edit specifications as applies to structural engineering

THE CONSULTANT

  • Interact with multiple outsource firms, acting as the advocate for all projects nationally
  • Review outsource engineering drawings for accuracy, appropriate design, and will perform value engineering
  • Select outsource engineers
  • Address permit and field issues, provide timely structural solutions, and stamp when necessary
  • Ensure quality control and project delivery

THE ADVISOR

  • Offer counsel on renovation projects regarding feasibility of design and ease of construction, identifying potential problems and solutions
  • Deliver creative solutions for problems encountered during renovations and communicate with our internal construction team
  • Advise the internal design and construction team on project scopes in relation to established budgets
  • Coordinate with other internal and external team members
  • Provide guidance during schematic design regarding structural solutions and cost

Your Building Blocks of Success


  • Stellar 5+ years of experience with at least 3 years focused on multifamily, amenity buildings, mixed-use, and/or commercial projects
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in structural engineering or civil engineering with a structural engineering concentration; licensure in structural engineering field is required
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning codes, and approval process as it relates to civil engineering
  • Thorough understanding of building systems and site requirements as it relates to civil engineering (Structural, MEP, Civil & Geo-Tech)
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; excellent management skills
  • Willing and able to travel 20%
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word & Excel, Navisworks and COMcheck.
